The visit to Inveraray was certainly most enjoyable. Both the castle and gardens, as well as the small town were well worth the visit. In the garden we came across one tree, so full of blossom, that we hadn't seen before. The blossom was also carpetting the ground. We saw a young gardener who was able to inform us that the tree was Eucryphia, and a quick internet search has yielded more information. After Inveraray we had to make our way to Ayr, on the west coast. This was in preparation for a much anticipated return visit, after many years, to Culzean Castle(pronounced cullaine). Arriving in the late afternoon we took a short walk around before driving off to our hotel. The following are just a few pics taken in Ayr, the final one being the view from my hotel window.
