The Third Morning - The Blue Mosque
On the way to the Blue Mosque we walked along The Hippodrome, so the first photo in this selection is from there. Then to the mosque. It is a working mosque, so the rules and customs have to be observed. That means no shoes are allowed. Women must have their heads and shoulders covered. No shorts are allowed by men or women. Thankfully the Blue Mosque supplies bags for you to put your shoes in and will also provided covers for heads and shoulders and also for those wearing shorts. So in the pics below you will probably notice many people so adorned.

Hi Geoff. I've just been looking at the beautiful photos of your Turkish trip. The buildings are absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe nearest I've been is some of the Greek Islands.
I've been to Molyvos where a very kind man opened up his cafe, when he should have been having a siesta, and served my cousin and I with walnut cake and lemon juice on a very hot day while a gentle breeze wafted over the harbour. Heaven!
There! I've managed to link both of your blogs.
Sadly my holidays are over but I hope you still have many more to come. x
